Wow I can't believe it's been months since I last posted! Life has been very busy for my family and me. I returned to work outside of the home. I am still running Little Piddles of course:) I never worked outside the home with 2 kids, so finding a way to balance work and home life took some adjustment time. "Green" Ideas

With Earth Day soon approaching I thought it would be a good time to become more Eco friendly. Do you have any great tips you'd like to share? Any great ideas to get the kids involved? One of the reasons I love natural products in because it is not harmful for kids to be around. I'd love to learn new ways to have my kids help out and help make a difference. Below are some things that I do.

1. Wash laundry in cold water (except towels and sheets)
2. Use hand towel in dryer (helps absorb water which dries clothes faster)
3. Cut dryer sheets in half
4. Use natural laundry detergent
5. Use Borax for laundry softener and cleaning (love this stuff)
6. Use natural cleaning products...I used to use vinegar and water most of the time, but recently switched to a hydrogen peroxide and water mix and LOVE it! Cleans great and better yet no smell!
7. Online billing to save on paper waste
8. E-mail my newsletters to customer to save on paper
9. Use ceiling fans
10. Use natural soaps and lotions (Love, love, love my Ciao Bella line)
11. Buy fruit from local market (just started doing this a month ago)
12. Pass Miss K's clothes to Miss A or family and friends
13. Make my own natural products (make some of my own make-up, facial astringent, deep hair conditioner, etc..There are many more great recipes I have found online that I am itching to try out.)
14. Recycle, re-use and re-purpose (always trying to improve in this area)

Valentine's Day Sale & Review

As you can see by when my last blog entry was it's been a busy month. I made many changes to my STORE and there are still more to come. If you check out my STORE I changed how my categories are worded to make it easier for you to find what you're looking for. I also removed and added many products. Over the next few weeks I'll be adding lots more and also changing how my store looks. Time to kick it up a notch and give it a make-over.

Holiday Time Savers

So with all the holiday madness why not save a little time when we can. I put a few times saving tips below that might come in handy.

Not enough time to clean:
Drizzle a few drops of orange-scented Pine-Sol on a clean cloth and hide it in a bookcase. It’ll give the room that just-been scrubbed smell minus the work.

Way to share your holiday photos:
Do you take a lot of pictures and want to share with family and friends? A great way for them to feel like they live close by is to upload your digital pictures to a place like www.winkflash.come so they can view your pictures and order copies for themselves.

Craft to do while the kids are on vacation:
Tired of all those broken crayons? Instead of throwing them in the trash re-use them. First heat oven to 250 degrees (oven temperature may vary). Fill a mini muffin pan ½ way with broken crayons and bake until crayons appear to be completely melted. Allow to cool completely BEFORE removing from pan. Crayons should easily pop out when the bottom of pan is tapped. Experiment with color combinations! Also look for fun shape molds like hearts, they make great Valentine’s gifts for friends at school.

Need to make room for new toys:
Trying to eliminate toy clutter? Take all the toys you know your child hasn’t played with for a long time and put them in a pile. Allow your child to select 6 of those toys to keep. Also take your child with you when you donate the other toys and explain how less fortunate children will love their new toys. I did this with both my kids and even have cousins and friends come over and take toys home. Since I started this at a young age, they never cried about giving their toys away. Now when I want to get rid of old toys my girls actually jelp me. They also know that they need to make room foo new toys for Christmas so they are more than happy to help:)

Don't want to fight with the plastic wrap to cover left overs anymore:
Store plastic wrap in freezer to make pulling it out a cinch. This is one of my favorite time savers as I make my husband’s lunch 5 days a week for work so this saves me lots of agrivation…lol!

Extra potatoes from your holiday dinner:
Cut them in half and cut shapes out with cookie cutters. Your child can use fabric pant and decorate a custom shirt for themself. Great activity to do when your child is home from scool on vacation the next few days.

In 2007, we were shocked to learn that so many of the toys our children were (are) exposed to were tainted with lead and phthalates. Large toy manufacturers outsourcing to China and other developing countries sold numerous products within the US that simply put, made kids sick.

Rightfully reacting to this mess, the US Congress cracked down on the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) and passed the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) in August 2008. Essentially, this law requires mandatory safety testing for all toys and products g eared towards children ages 12 and under.

In theory, we as parents and consumers should be thrilled with this action. However, the law lacks specifics and without modification, the reality is that thousands of small businesses who produce handmade toys and children's products will be forced to close our doors because the testing procedures are prohibitively expensive. Does this really make sense for the cloth diaper business using 100% organic cotton materials? Or the craft fair artisan that sold you a hand chisled wooden train set? Or the adorable personalized hand appliqued birthday t-shirt you just ordered from etsy.com?

On February 10, 2009 (coined "National Bankruptcy Day")-- this law will go into effect, forcing us to provide certification of thousands of dollars spent on third-party testing. Testing for chemicals that don't exist to begin with in the materials we use. Now more than ever, with our economy hanging on by a thread we need these small businesses who provide innovative, unique and SAFE products and help to keep our handmade in the USA industry thriving.

Here's what you can do to help.

1. Start by forwarding this information to everyone you know. Parents of young children are not the only ones touched by this legislation. There is a "forward" button at the bottom of this email.

2. Vote for amending the law on Change.org. With enough votes it will be presented to President Obama in January!

3. Find your congress person and senators and write a letter like the sample here. Particularly if they serve on the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection or the House Committee on Small Business.
4. Send an email directly to the CPSC or contact chairperson Nancy Nord at 301-504-7923.

5. Sign this petition, to be submitted to the CPSC.

So I finally took the plunge and now have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator website. They receontly now have it set up where you can place your order right online. I for one have been using their line for at least 10 years. Yes, I can get stamps at my local crafts stores, but the quality just isn't the same. SU stamps are more detailed. They also have a lot of coordinating stamp pads, cardstock, and lets not forget markers. Soon I'll be posting some projects I'll be working on. My brown vinyl just arrived and I can't wait to start creating. So if you are into stamping or scrapbooking please check it out.

Walking to School by Eve Bunting

I just got a copy of this book a few weeks ago called Walking to School that was written by Eve Bunting who has hundreds and hundreds of books published. On the cover is my sister-in-law Mrs. S and my niece Miss M. They are featured throughout the book especially Miss M. The illustrator was looking for a very Irish looking girl and who better then Miss M with her beautiful red hair and freckles. Miss M had to go to the illustrator's house (he lived near them) over the course of 4 months so he could take pictures of her to do the oil paintings. For those who know Miss M you'll notice she's younger in this book. These pictures were taken 4 years ago and the book was just released last month.

Needless to say Miss K and Miss A think it's so cool that their aunt and cousin are in a book!

Happy Labor Day! I can't believe it's been a whole month since I last blogged. We've been having so much fun, and all that ends this week. The girls return to school soon. I'm bummed because even though they can drive me batty at times I really enjoy spending time with them. Miss K goes to school all day this year and every time I ask her if she's excited about starting school soon her response is "But I'm going to miss you.". Aw it breaks my heart. Although I know once she gets to school I know I'll be chop liver again, but it's nice while it lasted.

So it's not that often that I send you to another person's site unless there is something really good being offered. Two very nice women Catherine and Emily contacted me about a Photo Essay Contest they are offering on their site. Grand prize is a wii Fit. Talk about a grand prize. We have regular wii and love it so I can only imagine how much fun wii Fit is. The thing I love most about this site is it carries clothes for kids who wear plus size clothes. My youngest is more "solid" body shape. She's not thin and she's not plus size so I know how frustrating buying clothes can be when most clothes are catered to thin kids. My youngest baby, LittlePiddles.com, just turned one this week. I can't believe it has been a whole year since the first day the store was live. I look back and think about how few products I had and how when I would get just a few visitors to my site I was so excited. Favorite Thing...

*NOTE* Something I forgot to mention in my article is that not all kids will outgrow their speech delay. Depending on what their delay is (ex. stuttering) it can get worse as they get older.

Also here are a few tips that we found very helpful.

Have him blow bubbles or through a little plastic kazoo. This helps strengthening his mouth muscles.

Use flash cards and make games out of them. Say if you have a pic of a balloon, cat, and person you can ask him which one flies in the sky?

Both are more play to him, but actually he's learning and practicing his sounds.

Don't make him repeat things over and over. If my daughter says something not clear I will repeat it slowly (I found that some sounds when I talk fast sound similar to her) and then ask her to say it again. If it's still not clear I will say it again, but then drop it. Asking them to do it over an over frustrates them.

So what do you think of my new revamped site? I LOVE IT! I have been so bored with my blog design since day one. I switched it to a different template to attempt to spice things up, but no such luck. I found this great site called Retro Designz which is owned by a fellow Mom Packer. She asked if I had any ideas on what I wanted and I mentioned a few colors and she created everything I wanted and then some. I am so thrilled to finally have a fun looking blog! 13 Ways I'm "Green"

The closer we are getting to Earth Day the more it's on my mind. I'm the first to admit I'm not the most Earth Friendly person, but then when I started my little list of things I do to help the environment I realized I am making a contribution. Sure there are always ways to improve and I hope to grow my list. Here are a few ways I am "Green"

1. Wash in cold water (except towels and sheets)
2. Use hand towel in dryer (helps absorb water which dries clothes faster)
3. Cut dryer sheets in half (I just started doing this)
4. Use natural laundry detergent (I just started doing this)
5. Use Borax for laundry softener and cleaning (love this stuff)
6. Use natural cleaning products (if you know me you know I hate harsh chemicals. Once in a while I use them because it's what works, but not often. I use BabyGanics, Borax, Holy Cow, and Vinegar and water)
7. Online billing to save on paper waste
8. E-mail my newsletters to customer to save on paper
9. Use ceiling fans
10. Use natural soaps and lotions (Love, love, love my Ciao Bella line)
11. Buy fruit from local market (will do this in the summer)
12. Pass Miss K's clothes to Miss A or friends
13. Recycle, re-use and re-purpose (still trying to improve in this area)

Notice the little girl in her blue tutu, it's Miss A. As I've mentioned before she loves her Be Jeweled tutu. She also loves her new Lil Sister bracelet. I've added a lot of new braceletes and still have some more jewelry to come. Does your child have an allergy, then you have to check out the medical line I just added to my STORE. On a different note...
As anyone who has more than one child or has siblings you can relate to what I'm about to say. My girls can be the best of friends one minute and battle it out the next. We have purchased Socker Boopers because we believe in safe battles...lol! In most cases it's the older sibling who terrizes the younger one (yes I speak from experience oh yes so much experience.) In our family it's my younger one. She is sweet as pie, but man if you get on her bad side the claws come out. I beleive you will see her on the Women's Division of the UFC in about 20 years. You laugh, but I think this may be her future career. So when I see them be so sweet to one another I treasure it. Granted it does happen often, but not always long enough for me to grab the camera. The other day I woke up to find both girls under the blanket on the couch in the living room watching cartoons. I'm not sure what was sweeter, letting me sleep a little longer or them just snuggling. Either way I had to take a picture to remember next time one is screaming "Mom!"

My Favorite Things

My newest tutu's are made by Be Jeweled . If you have seen my girls in person you know that they are tall girls and standard tutus don't fit them well. The owner of Be Jeweled has solved that problem. For most of them you get to choose not only your waist measurements, but your length as well. My lovely designer has is donating on for a giveaway that will be held around 3/28.

I love my new Ciao Bella products. I used my Vegetable Soap all the time. Since the bar of soap is so generous in size I cut in in half and keep 1/2 in the shower and the other 1/2 my my bathroom sink. Normally I never use bar soap to wash my hands, but this stuff makes my hands feel so good. After I'm done washing I apply my Hand and Body Cream. A few days ago my hands were extremely dry and cut up due to the dryness, well no more. My hands are silky smooth and all healed. I am also a person who washes their hands a lot (I have some OCD issues) so for my hands to be healed this fast is amazing.

Another one of my favorite products is a very genius one invented by a mom. It's the Dose Keeper. It is so cute and tiny, I love it:) I think at some point or another every parent has questioned what time they last gave their child medicine. All you do is put the elastic band around your medicine and it comes with paper and a pencil for yuo to keep track of type of medicine, date, and time. Another invention I'm sure we're all kicking ourselves in the butt saying "I wish I invented that."

Ok let me start off by saying no I am not pregnant, but this is a product that I still use. It's the Bebe Belly Band. It was created for pregnant womens who want to still wear some of their pre-pregnancy close. You wear this band over your unbuttoned jeans and it also allows you to wear your regular tops as well. Are you sitting there wondering why I am using it? I have many tops sitting in my closet that I will not wear because I hate for my mommy rolls to show, take my word it's not a pretty site. When I wear these it just looks like I am wearing a top underneath. It's also a great idea for moms who are nursing. Saves them lots of money not having to buy nursing tops:)

Since Mother's Day will be here before you know it have you checked out the Smart Mom Jewelry. You baby can actually chew on it. My girls are way past that stage, but I wear my Smart Mom Necklace and matching Smart Mom Bangle all the time. The owner of Smart Mom, Amy, will be on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch sometime soon.

It's Party Time!

Welcome to the party, please come in. Can I take your coat for you? When I heard about this Ultimate Blog Party from one of my favorite blogs Blonde Mom Blog you know I had to join in. Of course I am fashionably late as usual. For those of you who know me outside of blogosphere you know I am always late, so you're not surprised at all.

If your new to my blog, then please grab a snack and pull up a seat while I tell you a little about myself. This June my hubby and I will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary. This spring Miss A will be 4 and Miss K will be 6. Miss A is my bad beep. I am convinced that she will grow up to be the champion of the womens UFC division. You laugh, but if you actually know her then you have gotton your butt kicked by her at some point or another. Miss K is my performer. That girl is always, singing, humming, or dancing. Maybe she'll be on American Idol, nah because if she did and Simon was still a judge you know this Mama would be arrested for kicking his butt if he dared to say anything negative about my baby.

Some of my hobbies are spending hours online, scrapbooking (I'm so behind), rubber stamping, and making crafts. Speaking of crafts one of my newest is these cute little butterfly hair clips for my girls (see pic above). Calgon Take Me Away!

So for over 2 weeks now my back has been killing me and for over a week now I've had a nasty cold that I caught from Blonde Mom Blog...hey I have to blame someone don't I. Just when I think I'm getting better I start hacking and tearing up my throat, not to mention this headache is driving me nuts. And my girls (although their almost better) and hubby have it to, so we're just a house full of germs. All I want to do is take a nice hot bath, but now it's time to take Miss K to dance class so that's not happening. Got any home remedies that help you when you feel yucky?

Tip of the Week

In honor of what Miss A did earlier today I thought I'd post this weeks tip. Earlier today Miss A got a nice clump of gum stuck in her hair. I'm actually surprised this is the 1st time she's done this...so far...lol! Like my mother did with me on many occasions (ah sitting in the kitchen with a spoon eating peanut butter out of the jar, those were the days) I took a big clump of peanut butter and mushed it in her hair then used a fine tooth comb. I washed her hair twice just to be sure her hair didn't smell like peanut butter and she was good as new. It's not like I can even get upset when my kids do things like this. Can't get upset for things I have done way more times then my mom wish I ever did. So remember peanut butter isn't just for sandwiches. Plus the oils add a little shine:)

Tip of the Week

Looking for a new way to display those over sized artworks your child does at school? Trim them all to the same size, then take them to your local craft store and have them laminated. Now you have decorative placemats and the best part is clean up is a cinch! You can have your child make you ones for all seasons. Your child will love having their masterpiece on display and you’ll have a place to put them. Even better when they are laminated they are helped to be preserved from the acid from our hands.

You can also display their artwork in picture frames. Just buy ones where the backs don't have those push down prongs that way you can switch them out easily.

Another idea is hang plastic string or fishing string across the wall in their playroom or bedroom. Use cloth pins to clip their artwork to it. This way makes it easy to switch out old works of art for new. Great way to disply their favorite photos too. My girls love being able to look at their artwork spread across the room. When Miss A gets home from pre-k with her newest creation she always asks me to hang it up. Of course proud Mommy always does:)

*Make sure child is old enough and this is hung high enough to ensure your child will not harm themselves by swallowing small pieces.

I just added a bunch of new clothes to my website and will be adding more items very soon. Finally clothing that says everything you want to say like "Wash Your Hands First" and "Look But Don't Touch." I wish I had the Mommy version after I had my girls that say things like "MYOB (Mind Your Own Baby)", you know especially when you are out at the mall and your little one is crying and you get those looks from by standers that feel the need to offer their 2 cents. Company is on it’s way and you have toys everywhere. Keep wooden baskets in living room and clean up is a cinch.

Got extra potatoes left over and don’t want to throw them out. Cut them in half and cut shapes out with cookie cutters. Your child can use fabric pant and decorate a custom shirt for themselves.

Tired of the little toy holder in the bath tub falling down because the suction cups won’t hold up. Buy a plastic shower curtain organizer (preferably with mesh pouches so they can drain easily) and instead of putting your shampoo in it use it for toys. I get ones that are more on the longer side so my kids can reach their toys themselves. I have even found them at Dollar Stores and buy a few in case they rip.

My Workout...

usually consists of walking around at the mall:) Well, not no more. For Christmas we got wii. Of course since I threw my back out I had to wait about a week and a half to use it, but it was worth the weight. The past 3 nights my hubby and I have been playing it for like an 30-60 minutes. I don't know how anyone plays the wii sports without burning some calories. I remembered how last year I heard how a woman played wii sports for 30 mins./day for 6 weeks and lost 20 lbs., so I wonder could this be true. I don't know that I'll get to do it everyday for 6 weeks, but now I am really curious. Could there actually be a workout that is fun and works at the same time? I weighed myself last week and will weigh myself again in 2 weeks and let you know if it works. Of course as much as I would like to lose 10 lbs., watch after I just got a few new pairs of jeans for Christmas I'll lose weight and none will fit, oh no I might have to burn even more calories off at the mall while buying new ones:)

Santa got Miss A the Fisher Price Easy Link for Christmas. Santa got it on sale for $25 vs. regular price of $30. Yesterday I was at Target (my favorite store) and they were on clearance for $12.79. I thought it was worth regular price, but $12.79 what a steal. Of course they get you because you have to buy extra characters in order to play those games, but still it's worth it. You'd pay that for a computer game anyways and this thing puts them on a kid Internet. It has learning, games, and coloring pages. Miss A played on it for an hour till Miss K got home from school and she's been playing with it for about 1 1/2 hours. I made dinner, yes for those of you who really know me don't fall out of your chair (by the way it was yummy) and am down here chatting before I take out the dessert I made earlier (please get off of the floor, this is the new Jennifer, the trying to follow her New Year's resolution Jennifer, ah who am I kidding...lol!) Holidays Are Over

The holidays are over. Our Christmas was good except about 20 minutes before we had company on Christmas Eve my back went out. I was in so much pain. The next morning it got worse. I get so excited every year to watch the girls open their gifts and this year I couldn't get into it as much because of the pain. I took 2 naps which if you know me you know that I never get to take a nap in the day let alone 2 of them. My hubby helps me out any given day, but when I don't feel well he really steps it up. I got to rest until 30 minutes prior to having a house full of people. I didn't have to do much since my mom and mil make the main dish so I just had to throw on a few sides. Then my hubby, mom, and aunt cleaned up. Today my back still hurts, but nothing like the past 2 days so I took it easy all day. So I'm thinking that maybe I should get that x-ray my dr. wanted me to get 1 1/2 years ago when my back went out and he said my spine is a little curved.

Computer Frustration

Why it it everytime you type a long e-mail or post that the computer then decides to not work. Last night I wrote a long blog and of course can't remember half of it now and once I hit to post it, my computer decided to just get rid of it. It's so frustrating. Didn't my computer know that I was making homemade candies for a few hours and just wanted to come down here and relax. No I guess not. Ok enough complaining...

More holidays are around the corner and you know what that means...leftovers. If your using plastic wrap try this tip and it will make your life so much easier. Store plastic wrap in freezer to make pulling it out a cinch. This is one of my favorite time savers as I make my husband’s lunch 5 days a week for work so this saves me lots of agrivation…lol!

Almost Done Shopping

Dare I say it I'm almost done my Christmas shopping. I have my girls done, my nieces and nephews, and some of the parents done. I only have a handful of gifts left to buy. Don't worry I'm not that ahead of myself. Every year I give out handmade chocolates. I make them about 1-1/2 weeks before Christmas and they take what seems like forever. Over the years I have learned some short cuts to save time, but in the end it's still takes a lot of time. So see I need to be done my shopping early cause I'll be all wrapped up in chocolate in another week. Such a hard job, but someones got to do it:) Not that I'm an expert, but if you're looking to make your own chocolate covered pretzels or want to make my yummy peanut butter balls let me know and I'll share my secrets! Trust me if there's a short cut I've found it:)

Picture Time

Here is our holiday family portrait. We went Saturday to have our portraits done and although the girls behaved they were restless by the time we got in the studio. We had to wait 40 minutes so Ashley's pic and the one of the 2 girls together came out so so as. I really liked our family one except it looks like Kayla's chewing gum and she wasn't, darn spit bubble:) So tomorrow morning the picture place said I could come back for a retake and do an even exchange which I thought was very nice. I never complained before and was really nice when I called, but just wasn't as happy as usual. The morning should be interesting getting us all ready and there when they open and then Kayla has school in the afternoon. Wish me luck, because I'm sure I'm going to need it...lol!

Trying to eliminate toy clutter? Take all the toys you know your child hasn’t played with for a long time and put them in a pile. Allow your child to select 6 of those toys to keep. Also take your child with you when you donate the other toys and explain how less fortunate children will love their new toys. I did this with both my kids and even have cousins and friends come over and take toys home. Since I started this at a young age, they never cried about giving their toys away. Now when I want to get rid of old toys my girls actually help me. They also know that they need to make room for new toys for Christmas so they are more than happy to help:)

Granted I went to sleep last night at 1:30am, but I sleep till 9:30am so why am I still so tired. I'm blaming it on all the yummy turkey I had yesterday. I'm a plain Jane kind of eater and all I ate was turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes, and biscuits, but let me tell you it was oh so good. I had to eat only a little bit because the dessert were what I was really waiting for. My mom only makes her famous chocolate chip cookies around this time of year. From the time your child starts solids till they reach a certain age and can do it themselves you spend so much time cutting their food into little pieces. Save time by using a pizza cutter to cut everything from chicken stripes to pancakes. You can even find platic ones that you rock back and forth and let your child do it. I found one at Walmart a few years ago for I htink around $2. It makes life so much easier!

Santa Break Through

So my youngest daughter, Ashley up until today has not been a fan of Santa Claus. Actually she doesn't like anyone dressed in character costumes and isn't a big fan of strangers in general. Normally when we're out if I'm talking to a stranger she'll be the one to tell me to stop since we aren't suppossed to talk to strangers. Ok back to Santa, we had a major break through today. We were at a craft show and Santa was there so I told the girls they could go up and say hi if they wanted. Kayla of course ran up right away to give him a hug. Then when she stepped back Ashley ran up bumping into her sister to get her out of her way ran up to him and hugged him, what where did that come from. Then the girls had a chance to sit on his lap for pics and Ashley was all smiles. Ok so the past few years me and my hubby have had to get in the Santa pics with the girls to get Ashley to not run away from him and now he's her bff. What a difference a year makes. Thank goodness I had my camera cause it was such a milestone for my little peanut;)

Who wants to spend more time than you have to at the foodstore especially with kids. You can get layout card from Courtesy Desk and make a master list of what you normally buy by the order or the isles. I keep a business card size laminated in my purse just in case I forgot my list. I can stock my shopping cart all the way filled with 2 kids and be in the car in 1 hour. I also take some snacks with me to keep the kids from trying to open all the boxes of goodies while we're there. Another way to keep kids ocupied is cut out pictures from old coupons of items you need and give each child a list of their own. That way if they¡¦re helping the trip can go that much faster.

We had our Halloween party at our house, then both girls had one at school, then trick-or-treating, then Kayla's dance recital was this week on top of all that. It's Almost My Birthday!

In less than an hour it will be my 30th Birthday!!!!! I know a lot of women get bummed about turning 30, but I'm actually excited. Tomorrow we're having our annual costume party. Two years ago I wanted to start it since I always had costume parties growing up I knew my girls would love it too. Plus it's another reason to have another party:) It's so cute to see all the little cousins and friends dressed up. Geez I guess my last costume party was 6th grade I think, so it'll be fun to have the girls party tomorrow. I get to relive my birthday memories through them. Since Mike (my hubby) turns 40 next month, we decided to throw ourselves a no kids allowed b'day bash. I feel like I'm throwing a party with my mom out of town. We don't go anywhere without the kids, let alone throw ourselves a party. Needless to say the girls will be spending the night at Grandma's that night:)It's Almost My Birthday, Nah Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah!!!!!

I have so many great things I'll be adding this week to the site. Since yesterday I added Inch Bug Labels, Binky Buddy, Acting Out Light-Up Clippies, and Gift Sets by Gotcha Covered. I have Inch Bug Labels for both my girls so there is no more fighting over colored cups. Now they can both have the same color cup and if the other one's label is on it, too bad...lol! The Binky Buddy I so wish I had for my girl's since they loved to see how many times I would pick up their binky they spit out. My girls of course have the Acting Out Light-Up Clippies and they wear them all the time with heir Acting Out Musical Dresses. New Favorite Things

I love, love, love my new Classic Mommy necklace (found in Mom's category under Jewelry). I bought a bunch of low neck tops a few weeks ago and it is the perfect accent piece. I have been getting so many compliments. Women have stopped me in stores asking me about it.

For those of you who know me, will not be surprised by my next favorite thing...hair accessories (found in Baby and Girls category under Hair Accessories). My girls only have 2 organizers with 3 drawers each and 2 ribbon holders...hmm you think I'm a little hair accesssory obsessed...lol! I like to have one to match every outfit. Hey it's never too early to teach girls to coordinate...lol! There are 70 styles to choice from and most come in a variety of colors. Now you can see how easily it is for my girls collection to grow, it's too hard for me to not want to buy all of them:)

A couple of weeks ago I ordered one of my Classic Mommy Necklaces and boy do I love it. This year I bought new clothes and they all have a low neck line so of course I'd need to wear a necklace. This is perfect. I was able to get two discs with each of the girls name and I am always getting complements when I am out. (Necklaces can be found in Mom category under Jewelry)

I just ordered some Milk Bands and although my girls are well past the breastfeeding stage I love this invention. There were so many times I would nurse my girls and would have to think which side I nursed last. These bands now only help you keep track of what side you nursed on, but the time you nursed. Talk about making it even easier for nursing moms. (Milk Bands can be found in Baby category under Nursing)

Ok so for those of you who know me my next favorite item is no surprise. I love my hair accessories. I am a hair accessory obsessed mom, ok I admit it. I have 2 organizers with 3 drawers each and 2 ribbon holders for all the ones you can clip on. I would say I have hundreds for the girls:) Kayla takes dance so of course I had to order the ballet shoes one. It look so cute with her dance costume. So today was my youngest daughter, Ashley's, first class trip. I'm still having a hard time believing she's even in preschool since she's my baby. We went apple picking and she had a blast. Of course she picked a ton so now I need to figure out things to make with them. Any one have any good recipes, for warning I am not a good cook unless you want a good grill chesse that is my speciality:) I was thinking maybe I'll make applesauce or attempt an apple pie, who knows. Easy recipes welcome:)

Zach's Run/Kid's Show

We had a busy weekend. Sunday my oldest daughter, Kayla, and I went to walk in Zach's Run. Zach is Kayla's best friend or as she refers to him as the "boy she will marry". Oh yeah she tells me all about the beautiful white dress she is going to wear and how he is going to wear a black suit, the whole 9 yards. At age 3 Zach was diagnosed which Hunter Syndrome which you can learn more about on his website www.MakingPreciousStrides.org. His parents started the organization Making Precious Strides to raise money for research and last year they started the Run/Walk to help raise money. We did it last year and had a great time. Kayla was so excited to see Zach on Sunday since his family moved September 1st 8 hours away she has been missing him terribly, yes Cheryl I am mentioning that in case you read this...lol! Just kidding it was great to see you all and can't wait till your in town next.

So later that day I had a Kids Show convention. Oh the adorable stuff they had. I wanted to buy it all! Of course I don't have millions of dollars so that didn't happen. I will be having some new stuff on the website soon like rhinestone 3/4 sleeve shirts that say things like "Preschool Rocks, and Kindergarten Rocks", of course I had to buy one of each for my daughter's, you know to make sure they are ok to sell to others...lol! Kayla especially has a passsion for fashion as the Bratz dolls say so she is going to flip when her new shirt comes in. I was tempted to take her to the show since she has such good style, but new it would result in costing me way to much money so I deicded to leave her home. So I just started selling Dripstiks about two weeks ago. I love them! One end holds a popsicle and the other end holds an ice cream cone. It has a little rim so all the drippings go into the rim and not on your child. They are on my website under Baby, then Accessories. I took my daughters to get ice cream last week and they both used their Dripstik and I was the one who made the mess. My yummy chocolate coating kept falling off. And not a drop on them, hmmm guess I'm be using a Dripstik myself next time:) So I gave a few out to family and friends cause I knew they would love them too and everyone has been calling me raving abut them.

Another one of my favorite items is for the women out there and it's called Mommy Makeup (under the Moms category). Applying makeup has never been so easy. It takes me maybe about a minute and a half to do my whole face. I love that it looks natural and feels natural. Goodbye cake face! Last night I went out and my cousin told me my face looked luminous.

Costume Shopping

I find myself saying this ever year, but I can't believe the holidays are just around the corner. I mean Halloween is just a little over a month away. So the costume shopping has started. Both my girls decided they wanted to be Daphne from Scooby Doo. Of course they don't choose a costume you can find at every single store. So after searching online and taking them to several stores as luck would have it I found it at Target and I found both their sizes. My youngest was at school, so when I picked her up I told her I finally found her costume and guess what...she wants to be Dora. Are you kidding me?! So needless to say I'll be returning her costume and getting her Dora. Even though the Dora costume is boring, I mean $30 for that, I'm kind of glad she changed her mind cause I want the girls to be something different.

A few weeks ago on my website I created a tip of the week, so I thought I'd post them here as well. So if you haven't seen the past few weeks tips I listed them below.

Tired of going to the beach and dragging all the sand in your car when you leave? Sprinkle your feet with a little bit of baby powder and the sand brushes right off. Mom tested, mom approved!

Problem: Your kids want popsicles all day out in this heat, but you don’t want them to have all that sugar. Solution: Poor yogurt into popsicle containers and freeze them. To make them more fun add food coloring to tint the yogurt and do layers.

Do you have a child in an outdoor sport and another who’s bored when you go to the games? Fill a clear plastic container with sand and play toys to keep kids occupied while at outdoor games.

Your going to have unexpected company come over for dinner and don’t have time to clean the house. Drizzle a few drops of orange-scented Pine-Sol on a clean cloth and hide it in a bookcase. It’ll give the room that just-been scrubbed smell minus the work.

School is going to start before you know it. A great way for your child to brush up a little before school is by going on sites like

If your shopping for clothes and don’t have time to wait in line ask the salesperson who was helping you to put your items on hold so you can pick them up later. Another idea is try everything on and order them online when you get home. Shopping during the week and in the morning also helps beat the rush.

Don’t forget Grandparent’s Day is on the September 9th. Do you want to find a cute way to make a card that you can get your kids involved in? Print out a picture of your kids and glue it to a piece of cardstock. Then on the cardstock side your kids can write a personalized message. That way it’s a 2-1, picture of your kids, but also a card. If you do 4x6 they can easily store it in a photo album so they can look at it for years to come.
